Roberto Martinez Jr. (born June 19th, 1980) who performs under the name Rob Mar is an American rapper and successful business owner. Son of a Grammy nominated recording artist, music has always been a passion of his. Raised by his aunt and grandmother, he grew up in Mesa Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix, and became interested in the Hip Hop culture due largely to the accessibility of the music through MTV, BET, and other like media sources. Short visits to Houston, Texas with his parents would further open the world of hip hop as well as add influence. Rob began cultivating his skills as an Emcee at the age of 12 while continuing his education. This continued through high school and into college. At the age of 19, shortly after receiving his first college degree, he began recording in a semi-professional studio but never released any of the material. Frustrated with the situation Rob began assembling the equipment necessary for home recording as well as expanding his knowledge of music. In 2002 a short deal with a Houston based independent record label resulted in more unreleased music. In 2003 He returned to Phoenix for a career opportunity and used that chance to return to college. After completing his second degree in 2006, while continuing home recordings with professional equipment, Rob opened his first business. The success of this company became the catalyst to opening more successful businesses as well as inspired him to continue his education in the pursuit of an MBA. This provided a solid foundation for Rob to pursue his musical passion more professionally by forming an association with independent record label Sweatshop Music. In late 2010 Sweatshop was introduced to 21 the Producer, a very talented, up and coming Producer who has been making a name for himself. Early successes with young money/Cash Money, Cory Gunz, G unit/G Note, Xzibit, Willie North Pole, etc. make 21 a great fit for the launch of an independent record label. In early 2011 Sweatshop continued to grow by adding the production of Lindsey Kellogg aka "Link Nukem" who has worked with Wu-Tang clan and its affiliates, DMC from RUNDMC, New Alumni, LV Sharp, and more. The most recent addition, Darius "Deezle" Harrison, brings big music business clout with his smash hits "Lollipop"& "Mrs. Officer", among many more. Deezle, a two-time Grammy award winning multi-platinum producer for Lil Wayne, has attracted a lot of attention from the music industry and has provided hit singles for the highly anticipated Rob Mar album "Big Things LP". Rob Mar brings true lyrical talent with influences from 2pac, Biggie, Pun, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Wu Tang, Nas, Rakim, Jay-Z, and Eminem that can be heard through a voice that proclaims he is truly inspired by many and defined by none. His words paint vivid pictures that will take you on a journey of inspiration that is spoken through true stories of an American dream. The 2011 release "Big Things" features the melodic vocals of LV Sharp and is the first commercially available single. The video was directed by John Colombo who has worked with Royce da 59, Crooked I, Saigon, Joel Ortiz, Cory Gunz, Reakwon, Method Man, Ghostface, N.O.R.E., Xzibit, Cassidy, Nick Cannon, Big K.R.I.T., Slaughterhouse, and many more. The Rob Mar Album "Big Things LP" was released in 2012.
